MFC-8220 Brother Multi-function printer?

my mom bought that printer today. and it come with a blue piece of cassette on it. you cannot acces the menu, scan, etc.. i do not know i that blue tape have something to do with. in attendance is another warrenty piece of tape, but it say warrenty on it. what is the blue tape? i'm afraid if i lose a warrenty. can i filch it off? any oblige is much appriciated.

Take off the cassette. Its protecting tape with the sole purpose.
